You just woke up desperate for greasy food and you got a message. I like you, #amosc. This is not the time to decipher the messages. That’s where we came in.
Let’s be clear, after all, that’s why you’re on this page:
AMOSC stands for: Add Me On SnapCa
Sometimes you see AMOS instead of AMOSC. Deep down, they mean the same thing. Only one of them uses only the S in Snapchat, while the other uses both the S and the C in Snapchat.
Snapchat and other social media platforms have many acronyms that are sometimes difficult to decipher. There are typical abbreviations for texts that we have known for ten years, but with the growing popularity of Snapchat a number of new abbreviations appear.
When we first saw OCSM, we really wanted to quickly find the definition and move on.

To make things a bit more confusing there is an organization called AUral MArina OSchlick STablet Ccompany that uses the same abbreviation. As you can imagine, you need to use contextual clues about what the person is talking about.
AMOSC stands for Add me to Snapchat.
Is there an OCSM application or website?
This can be a bit confusing, but the application for OCSM is Snapchat itself. You probably received the text or the Instagram DM using an acronym and rushed to Google to find out what it meant.
Well, the guy wants you guys to be friends on Snapchat. Below we see how we can add a friend to the application.
If you are looking for a website, you cannot currently enter Snapchat online without an emulator and some possible complications. The manufacturer Snapchat has simply not yet decided to develop PC or Mac versions of its platform. Maybe that will change in the future! We just recommend that you take your iPhone, open your Snapchat and add a friend.
How do I add a person to Snapchat?
Adding a person to Snapchat can be different from other social networking platforms such as Instagram or Twitter. Fortunately, Snap (the parent company of Snapchat) has provided us with a number of tools to help us find and add friends to Snapchat.
It’s one of the things Snapchat’s ahead of. Snapchat strives to provide a number of different options for adding friends without the traditional username search function.
Extract from the Snapchat manual for adding friends. More information can be found here: https://support.snapchat.com/en-US/article/add-friends.
Suppose you have a friend from high school or university and you want to log in to Snapchat. There are many options, but the first thing you need is that your friend already has a Snapchat account.
If they ask you to add them to Snapchat, they’ve probably already downloaded and installed an application, so it’s fine.
Method 1: Adding friends from the address book
The easiest way to add someone to Snapchat is to use your address book on your mobile phone. Just follow these steps and your Snapchat username will be displayed if you already have an account.
- Open the snapshot and press the bitmoji/face icon in the top left corner.
- Tap Add Friends
- From there you will see a list of people you can add. In the upper right corner of the screen you can select all contacts. This will display all your contacts in the address book to see if they have a profile in Snapchat.

Method 2: Adding friends from search query
This option may be better if you send a message to OCSM, as they probably only contain your Snapchat username. The search function is a quick and easy way to find and add a person if you already know his or her name.
For this method to work, another person must already have a Snapchat account.
- It’s the same as method 2, open instant chat.
- Click on the search icon in the top left corner next to your Bitmoji.
- From there, a text box opens in which you can enter a Snapchat username.
- When your profile appears, click the Add button.

Method 3: Adding Friends from Quick Add
You can use the quick add option when Snapchat thinks you should be friends with someone and automatically displays it as a person you can connect to. It is also possible to add a friend. If it’s mentioned in the story, just scroll up and click the Add button.
Snapchat does not fully reveal how you will meet the friends on your access list from DeepL. But they say it’s a combination of friends of friends, accounts you’ve chatted with in the past, accounts you’ve subscribed to, and so on.
Method 4: Adding friends with menu
It’s very clever in Snapchat. If one of your friends marks you or mentions you in their photo, anyone who looks at the photo can add you in the mention.
To add someone who uses a reference, just roll up the notch and it gives you the opportunity to add a friend who will be named.
Method 4: Adding friends with snap code
The last method is snapcode, which is a single yellow image with black dots and your bitmoji in the middle. It’s a kind of business card for people to add you by simply pointing the camera at your device. If you don’t have a snap code yet, you can create one here.
To add someone with Snapcode, scan the code with your mobile phone camera and Snapchat automatically adds a person to your friends.
Problems adding a person to Snapchat?
There are three ways to add someone to Snapchat.
- The other person you want to add has actually blocked you. Of course, if they’ve excluded you, you can’t add them as a friend.
- Sometimes a person deletes their Snapchat account and you can even try to add them directly with their username, but you cannot add them because they have deleted their account.
- Finally, there is an unspoken rule that limits the number of Snapchat friends. Snapchat has never revealed what the limit of friends is, but they say it’s MUCH, so you don’t have to worry. Some websites set a limit of about 5000 friends. However, if you encounter a friendship limit on Snapchat, you can always remove connections that you don’t communicate with regularly and add a new person.
I hope this clarifies what OCSM is and how you can add your friend. Sometimes it can be useful to get this quick information to put you on the right track.
